The Nelson Downriver Race is intended for anyone interested in canoe or kayak racing - from novices to national champions. Our goal is to promote recreation, conservation and sportsmanship through paddling rivers and lakes in and around Nelson County, Virginia.

Action at Rock Pile Rapid. Raleigh Davis and Damon Roussos breeze through Rockpile Rapid and turn in an excellent race time. Super paddler, Michael Amos, shows why he is a perrenial winner on the racing circuit. Hooray! Whoever put the I-beam underneath the rock needs to come forward.
